i'm sorry that i've left my dairy behind for a couple of days, though no one would read it... ...
In order not to desolate the dairy, when i have nothing to share with you, i would try to share my knowledge. (Actually, i want to better my study^^) You are more than welcome to point out my mistake(s) in my essay. Please don't hesitate to inform me by leaving a comment or what ever.
Well, in the first time, i don't want it to be difficult. Er... Maybe i had better teach one word merely. That is "look". It looks simple yet it has different meanings when it is followed by different prepositions. Here are some examples:
look for=finding 尋找
e.g. Have you seen my rubber? I am looking for it.
look forward to=expect 期昐
e.g. I am really looking forward to the Sports Day.
look at=gaze at 注視
e.g. Why are you always looking at me?
look after=care 照顧
e.g. My mum asked me to look after my younger brother when she was out.
look up=find sth. by reading
e.g. look up the dictionary
look up to=respect 尊敬
e.g. Mr Wu is a brilliant teacher. All of us look up to him.
look down on=do not admit other's intelligence 輕視
e.g. Rich people often look down on others.
See? How interesting is this word! You may use some of them in your writing though they are unlikely to be regarded as a part of rich vocabulary... ...
Okay, i think that's enough for today. And i need to do some exercises in preparation for the biology quiz tomorrow. See you~
